Passing by Piazza Barberini with the Triton
Fountain, by Bernini, we reach St. Mary
Major (visit) the most
beautiful Basilica dedicated to Mary Mother of Christ with gorgeous
mosaics and the relcs of Jesus cradle. Continue to St. John's in Lateran (visit) cathedral of
Rome and first Papal residence with masterpieces from Middle Ages to
Baroque. Stop at the Holy Stairs.
Through the first part of the Appian
Way, with a view at the
Domine Quo Vadis Chapel, we reach the Catacombs (Domitilla or St.Callixtus), the
ancient underground Cemeteries and extraordinary expression of faith
of the early Christians. The tour ends with a panoramic view of
Caracalla Thermal Baths. Return to hotels or nearest
point.
